Welcome to Berks Visiting Nurse Association Home Page!

Berks VNA has been continuously serving its area’s home and community health care needs since 1909.   For almost 100 years, Berks VNA has provided the area with the skills of highly professional health care staff who demonstrate high trained skills and the greatest compassion to ensure the optimal wellness for our clients.  Through the years, Berks VNA has always been the gold standard in home health care.  It offers the most comprehensive menu of home health care services of any agency in Berks County.

Our agency provides more than nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapies, medical social services and home health aides and hospice as home care services.  There many specific programs that make our agency uniquely different in the way care is provided to our clients.  Home care specialties include the care of clients from babies and children to seniors with special geriatric needs.

Berks VNA services extend to included many latest technologies that are woven within traditional home care to give the highest quality care available today.  Wounds are now dressed with the latest advances in wound healing, as well as with high tech treatment such as Vital Stim.  There is an array of IV therapies available for clients of all ages in their homes.  There are disease management programs including diabetes and congestive heart failure that concentrate on frequent nurse intervention for ensuring stability and less hospitalization.  Berks VNA was the first to develop advanced technology with telehealth into its home health programs.  Telehealth enables a client to communicate all vital signs and other measurements to a central station nurse located at the agency.  The nurse notes any changes and responds, enabling a better chance to remain at home instead of a transport to a hospital for treatment.  There are numerous child health care programs from immunizations to home care pediatric carePsychiatric and mental health needs are met through a specialized program intervention that includes a certified mental health nurse and a medical social worker. For those with pain management needs, Berks VNA provides a palliative care program.  For end-of-life needs, its hospice team will embrace a client and its family with all the physical, emotional and spiritual support necessary
